Presentation

In one week I have my final presentation and in 1 week is graduation.This is it finally the day is coming closer. I'm excited to present in front of professionals and get some feed back. After graduation I hope to continue my education but its also time to start a small business. To keep writing and producing more short films :) it's exciting to know my parents are proud of me and that I have comed a long way. I know this is just the beginning of something great!

Belive in yourself!!!

One day you might wake up feeling like nothing makes sense like everything seems dumb and people might turn their backs on you. One day you might ask yourself is it worth it doing something different or is it pointless. Maybe you want to do something you believe is great but people might tell you it's not! That's when you step up and say no I believe in myself and you do it! You keep going til the end! Always believe in yourself always have faith in yourself and if it's not as good as you think it was you try again you never give up!! What looks good to you but bad to others might turn out to be excellent! So never ever give up!!!

Faith

After months of hard work we have finally finished our short film called "Faith". Thanks to my group who was able to work good together we got an interesting story. We decided to dedicated to any person who is suffering in silent we tell them that they are not alone!!! The director was Mireya Garcia, Co-director an cinematographer Kasey Seats. Story by and produced by Maricarmen Rosales. Actors Maricarmen Rosales, Adolfo Enriquez III and Armando Rosales. We are proud of our work it might not be something people are not used to watching but it might help someone speak up.

Martina McBride - Concrete Angel (Child Abuse)

Every single day a child is abused by someone else. Why, do children have to go through this? That's something I might never know. How can parents have the heart to do this to a little person who can not defend him or her self. Why do people see this things and just stay quiet. Children were born to smile and have fun not to suffer and cry. Why bring children to this world to suffer. I wish that I could protect them all from this. I wish I could open the eyes of that people and make them see how much they hurt them. Children are God's little angels sent to make this world a better place. We should all get together to try and make a difference to try and protect them and help parents understand that being a parent is not easy but it is worth trying to make a child happy.

It's over

And it's now over. "The Language of Flowers" was great! Every single day of preparing for this play was  worth it. Three days and 4 shows that made a difference in my acting. That helped me grow as a person and helped me gain more experience. It's now over but I leave with wonderful memories. Memories that will last a lifetime. Memories that I will never forget. Acting is super fun it allows you to be someone else and not yourself. It also helps you grow as a person and be more confident about yourself. One journey has ended but I'm ready to begin a new one. This play might be over but I know I have many many more to come! :)

Finally

And here it is finally the first day to present "The Language of Flowers." The set looks beautiful and the actors are ready to do this. Everyones is working together and we know we have a great show to perform. We hope that every person enjoys the performance as much as we enjoy putting it together. Today will be a great great day! :)

"The Language of Flowers"

So it's finally coming together. We are 4 days away from the first performance of the "Language of Flowers." The first performance will be this friday :) we are all super excited. The set is finally coming together. The pillards are being put up, costumes and props are being used. Some of us are a little nervous but we know it will be a great show. We will be performing three days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Hoping that everything will turn out good and that the audience will love this show.

Maricarmen's Pictures

Here's 4 pictures that I have taken. The first one is called "Lonely" the second one is called "Beyond the Light" the third one is called "Imagination" and the fourth one is called "Paint". The first picture is called "lonely" because it gives me that feeling. The tree is in sepia tone and it has no trees around. The second one is called "beyond the light" because when you look close at it it's up to you to imagine where this picture was taken. The third one is called "imagination" because you have to use your imagination to capture a great picture. This picture was taken using a roll of trash bags. The fourth picture is called "Paint" because the sunset and the clouds makes you believe that its a photograph of a paint but its actually the real sky.

Foundation

I hope that one day I have enough money to start a foundation. Actually to start two foundations. One would be for children with cancer. The reason being is that in one way every children who has cancer is my hero. Day by day they go through different therapies or other medical treatment and they don't loose hope they keep going. They have faith and smile and hope for a better tomorrow. This children never give up and teach us a lesson. The second foundation I would start is for poor children who live on the streets and have no place to stay or eat. It's not the child's fault that their patents brought them to this world and abandon them. The streets in Mexico and other places are full of children who need help. In order for us to make this place a better world we have to start by helping and doing something to make that change occur. I believe we are all in this world for a purpose and one way or another we have to figure it out. My purpose is to help children.

2 more weeks..

So the time is almost here. We have two more weeks left of rehearsal for "The Language of Flower" theatre play. It's kind of scary to know that what we have worked so hard might come to an end. But I know every one is doing a great job and that together we will put a great performance. It also scares me that I might mess up when performing since it's the first theatre play I do. But I know that if I have more faith on my self than the usual everything will turn out good. :) let's hope everything goes good and that people love our performances.

Faith

We are continuing to work on our short movie called faith. Everything seems to be going good. Yesterday we got all the church scenes which I think came out pretty good! Today we will be re shooting some scenes because one of our actors is not sounding good. The reason being that he doesn't speak Spanish very well and our short film is in Spanish with English subtitles. We asked others for opinions and everyone seems to agree. So as a crew we decided to change the actor so that our short film will look good! Today we will be doing that so I hope this time we get it right :)

Acting workshop

Yesterday I got to experience a little more practice on acting. I had an acting for the camera workshop. It was very interesting they showed us some breathing tips that help when acting. They also showed us how to position our selfs. We also got to practice and see how we look when going to an audition. This workshop was very helpful it just showed me that I can increase my acting skills and workshops and classes will help with that. Acting is super fun and when you position yourself in that specific situation and feel comfortable with the role your delivery of that character will be great! I look forward to having more acting classes or workshops.

WNMU

So today we had a very interesting school about Western New Mexico University. It completely changed my mind. I wanted to continue my career in photography and just focus on that but today's speech made me think about it again. I love photography but i loved how you can create sounds and work with cameras. I also loved that they said it's a small school and how their program IDEA combines a little about everything. Maybe that's the right career for me. It's hard to decide what you really want to do and what a better chance than to do a little of everything. Since this program interested me so much I decided to call and make an appointment for a school tour. So next Friday March 23rd I will go and check out the school. Maybe I finally found what I want to go into. It's alway good to know a little about everything. WNMU maybe you will be the next school for me!

"faith"

This last weekend we were working on a short story I wrote last semester. It's called "Faith" and we are working on it for my advance production class. Filming all weekend was very fun and tiring. We still have two more scenes to shoot. It's a very dramatic and painful short movie. I am very excited to put this short movie together. I played the role of Alexa the main character which life is not easy at all. I'm very proud that I was able to play this role and I know that the finish product will be amazing.

Lonely

This is the most recent picture I've taken. Actually I took it yesterday while leaving the Central Campus.  I've decided to name it "Lonely". I decided to name it Lonely because it's just one tree, you can't see any other trees around. It stands alone. I love how you see the light behind the tree. It makes you wonder and think what's behind it. That maybe its not alone maybe something else is with it. So is the tree really lonely? Who knows.
I decided to give it this look because it makes the picture a lot more interesting than just a colored image. Good pictures are everywhere you just have to look around and pay more attention.

Photography

What is photography? Photography is art. It's a way of expressing your self. It's a way of capturing moments that will last a lifetime. For me photography is a way of creating something interesting that everyone is going to want to see. For example photographing children. Children are innocent and you can always get a true and sincere smile from them. You will always capture them just the way they are. Whether they are sad or happy. Children can sometimes change your mood and what a better way then capturing a moment that will help you when they are not around. Photography is a way of going back to something you once lived. Photography is one of the world's best things.

School

So it's March! Almost May, almost graduation! It's exciting to know I will receive my associates in Creative Media. But at the same time it's scary because I don't know if I want to go to CMI or do photography. At the same time I believe photography is my dream. I love to take pictures and capture moments that you only live once. I also want to learn sign language and help people who don't speak or hear. I believe it will be a great experience and I'll help someone out. I think the next step is to go to NMSU and talk to an advisor.

Getting Started

I have created my wix page.
Wix Page. This is a one of the first steps to start showing my work. It describes me and I believe its easy to navigate. Also I have added images that I believe are interesting to see. Also I have created my flickr account and I will be uploading pictures that I take. If I include pictures of someone else I have decided to have them sign a release form, just to prevent any future problems.

Little Business

I have been thinking about starting to create my own little Business. Name it Rosales Creations. I would take pictures, create invitations for birthday parties, do some table arrangements and even do some personalized things like bottled waters. Start creating new things that people might love to have in a party. I know its a big step and it might be hard at first but with some hard work and dedication I can do it. I'll start by creating some examples of invitations and move one from that. If I put effort in it I know I can do it.

Logos

Creating a logo might be a little hard. Its hard to decide how you want it to look and actually make it work. Even though it's a little hard its fun to go through the process of creating something that might define you. Sketching is fun specially when you have to create something new. It might not look as good in your sketch but once its done it sure will. Logos are a part of your new adventure as a Professional. You have to create it so that people will remember you and recognize you immediately. The challenge of creating a new logo has began, now lets see what it will end up looking like.

In this picture I used my hand and my little sister's hand. It was a little hard since I had to take it with one hand and try to get it right. It means a lot because I know that no matter what your family will always be right besides you holding you hand. I decided to add a quote and dedicate it to both of my little sisters, "There's no best friend than your sister, or best sister than you."

This is one of the pictures of taken and edited. I think it's an interesting picture because it is just a roll of trash bags. I've learned that even with the simplest things you can get a good picture. I used photoshop to edit it and added some filters to make it look nice.

Interesting Article

While reading this article it didn't surprise me that companies want your twitter account or your facebook account. A resume says what you've done, your education and your experience. But now a days what you post online is what describes you the most. Companies want to hire a person who is responsible and friendly and what a better way than to see it online. If a person is responsible enough then they will not post things that don't make sense online. Also they want someone who might be friendly and gets along with others. If posting online nonsense things or starting verbal fights then that means that person is not mature enough for a professional position. Sometimes people use their twitter or any other online source to show their work and things they have done. Some people might not agree with people asking for your twitter or any other account but maybe it is a good idea. Maybe that will make people more responsible about the things they post online.

Presentation by Susan

Today we had a very interesting presentation. It helped me refresh my memory that writing is more than just putting words on a paper. Us, as professionals have to be very careful with what we say. We have to think of our ethos and who we are. In order to become well known you have to know who your audience is and how will you approach them.  Our audience is the key to make an interesting and professional portfolio. As professionals we also have to think about our pathos. What message do we want to transmit to our audience? In order to get a job or clients we have to transmit a good message. Our purpose is another key to make our portfolio count. For example my purpose is to be a photographer so I have to focus on that key to make my portfolio a good one. Susan gave a really good speech. She helped me by reminding me of some very good strategies.

Another Painful Night

As I mentioned before, this semester I have the advanced production class. I decided to propose my short story to shoot called "Another Painful Night." This story is about a 16 year old that her brother sexually abuses of her and her parents don't treat her well. We decided to shoot it and I was able to get some crew to help me. I will be playing the role of Alexa the girl that is being abused and I'm very excited because if everything keeps going the way it is we should start shooting by the end of this month.

"The Language of Flowers"

In April I will be part of a theatre play called The Language of Flowers. My role is Candelaria who is Romeo's mother. This play is very interesting and I know it's going to be super fun! I am very excited to be part of this. Today was the first day of blocking. It was fun I am looking forward for wednesday to keep working on this play.

Production

This semester I have my advanced production class. Its going to be fun. I have been working on a short story and we will be shooting a scene. I know its going to be a little hard. We want to do a spanish film with english subtitles. We know our location and are working on our story board. We need to find an actor who will be great for this role. So lets see how that goes....

Might be hard but not Impossible

So it all comes to the end, one more semester and its graduation! But no one said it would be easy. May is just around the corner and I have to make sure I pass all of my six classes. But I know I can do this. Portfolio class is going to be a challange but its not impossible. Working hard and showing up on time every day will help a lot. Even though I'm scared and sometimes think I will not make it I know I will. I just have to believe in my self and push my self every day to keep going. I know this semester will be super fun and I know I will learn a lot from each class.
